Hovi has won the EUDI Wallet Hackathon Innovation award 2026. . SPRIND, the Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovations, organised it as part of the national EUDI Wallet project it leads on behalf of the German Government’s Federal Ministry for Digital and State Modernization (BMDS).
More than 100 Businesses and Individuals participated. People took part from 12 time zones. Teams presented 42 solutions across five tracks. It was the first time the German EUDI Wallet ecosystem opened up this way, with access to both Person Identification Data and Electronic Attestations of Attributes.
We proposed a solution for "Verifying Telco Customers on the Fly, Stopping SIM Swap and Account Takeover."
The problem. SIM swap fraud starts simple. A phone call, an impersonator, your number gone. The attacker answers a few security questions using data that is already leaked, and the agent approves the change. Security questions test what a caller knows. That is the flaw.
What we demoed. An AI voice agent that verifies the caller during the call, using credentials from the German EUDI Wallet scheme.
A customer calls their telecom provider to update roaming settings and enrol in a loyalty programme. The agent runs the whole conversation on its own. While the call is live, Hovi's digital trust infrastructure checks the caller's wallet credentials. A dashboard tracks each stage in real time. Once verified, the customer receives a loyalty credential.
If the identity check does not pass, the change does not happen. No security questions. No callback. No social engineering window.
Beyond telco. Fintech and insurance contact centres field the same request every day. Change the payout account. Update the beneficiary. Reset access. Each one is a trust decision made on incomplete information.
Congratulations to Ernst & Young (EY) and the other winning teams Watch our demo:
